Ah, suckout

Hmm. In 6-max, I guess my opponent is just thinking that a pre-flop raise caller is just calling with high cards...

I busted, but I'll take a 76 percent chance to win any day.

  • Actually, I put you on a middle pair.

Your smooth call made me think it very unlikely you had TT-QQ, and me having AK made AA-KK even more unlikely.

I figured (wrongly I supposed) that you had enough chips to fold given that I had reraised you out of position and was representing a bigger overpair and if you didn't, I still had six outs.

You seemed awfully certain I had big cards rather than an over pair--I never understand how people can be so sure of this, especially online I would have played JJ-AA exactly the same, and possibly 99-TT that way too.

Like I said, your call was the right call, and I had to fall back on my outs.

If it's any consolation, I busted 3rd shortly after BadBlood crippled me by pushing all in into my trap with 3 outs once. He hit.

    Now THAT is a suckout.

  • Good read. How did you make that read? Wouldn't your opponent had played an overpair the same way?

  • I don't know much about soxlover but I felt at the time that he might not play an overpair that way.

I didn't think midpair because of the preflop reraise. I'd been playing really tight so I thought that I wouldn't get reraised except with something like AK.

But no worries, was a fun tourney! I thought WPBT had gone by the wayside post Vegas.
