Party (Poker) in the Air
Looks like next year may be a good year to fly, as American Airlines is set to introuduce broadband service on their planes.
This will be awesome. The airline announed in August that it would provide the service on Boeing 767-200s for a fee and if successful, could be extended to its entire fleet.
Each aircraft would have three antennas (two on the bottom and one on the top) and would receive the Wi-Fi connection from cell towers.
Can you imagine making the 3:40 flight from Atlanta to Las Vegas and knocking down enough toasters to pay for the entire trip during that time? Or having your Vegas experience continue while playing during an entire red-eye flight.
Or you could brush up your skills along the way by watching CardRunners videos.
It's been a long time coming, and I can't wait. Would be nice, though, if the hometown airline would follow suit.

Can you imagine the tilt of seeing your Aces were folded because you were taking a turn of more than 3 degrees?

I can imagine LOTS of tray tables being completely removed from the seat backs, kinda like a Wookie playing an R2 unit in three-dimensional chess.
