Here's seven random things about me. (Here's what I wrote in May).
). I've run, as of today, 309 days consecutively, each day this year and am trying to close out the year with upwards of 1,100 miles. I have missed only six days since Oct. 18, 2006 and in that one-year timespan run nearly 1,200 miles. I've only run at most half that in previous years.
). On most days also, I ride a Trek hybrid into work and it's prolly the closest thing to combat that I'll actually experience (if you've ever seen downtown Atlanta rush-hour traffic, you'll know what I mean).
). I've experienced some weird things as a reporter. Witnessing burn unit surgery will always remind me of the smell of Fritos.
). I became addicted to cats after seeing a whimsical drawing of "el gato" in my high school Spanish textbook.
). Until very recently I would only sleep to the sound of a high-powered fan on or an air conditioner because it mimics the drone of an aircraft engine. I've stopped it because it's cold now and I do not want to lose my hearing.
). In Vegas, I always have a black $100 Bellagio chip in a plastic case in my pocket. I'm happy that even when my bankroll was low, I have never cashed it in.
). I will often tape fortune cookie messages to my monitors. At work: "Endurance and persistence will be rewarded." On my laptop: "You should learn to find money and hold onto it." I am not putting anything on my new LG flat-screen.
