Heads-up, the practice squad
Because there aren't any NL$10 h-u tables on Full Tilt, we settled into some six-max tables. Like a leaky boat, ultimately the tables fill up to capacity.
But still, it was nice. I really haven't seen too many h-u videos on Cardrunners, so I was trying to go with what I remembered. It felt like playing almost too tight, a departure from my SNG endgame where I'm virtually playing every hand.
But then I got to thinking -- is it helpful for Gnome to practice facing the winning, CR offense? Maybe. Maybe he's more likely to see that style playing for $1,000 stacks.
Next time I want to play with different styles -- the maniac, the tight passive, etc. Sort of like how football teams at the college and NFL levels practice by having the practice squad emulate their opponent's style in offense and defense.
I read somewhere that someone -- Lyle Berman? -- once practiced for a major tournament with friends emulating the styles of the other pros -- Gus Hansen, etc.
It's certainly worth thinking about.
