Last day of trading

LA GRANGE, Ill. -- I found myself back at Borders today, making a last-ditch effort to try to find a poker book to read on the plane for tomorrow's flight home.

There was a middle-aged guy looking through the books, eventually settling in on Sklansky's updated Tournament Poker for Advanced Players. He said he came there after seeing a new book on tournament poker in CardPlayer magazine.

I didn't even think of suggesting to him the CR offense.

I looked over Collin Moshman's, book, Sit N' Go Strategy, but still couldn't pull the trigger.

It's silly, because I'll likely be on the plane with nothing to read. Oh, well.

I'm glad I came up here -- it is always great to reconnect with family and friends. The snow was an added plus- it always reminds me of Christmas.

I've been reading a bunch of bloggers with their goals for this year and next. Way to go, bloggers!

The only goal I had for this year was to try to run every day, which I accomplished this morning.

I wasn't sure how poker would go. I had such a poor fall season in 2006 so it was all up in the air. But the CR offense really gave me a lot of confidence in my play, especially when it seems like it still isn't widely adopted out in the Internet.

I do and don't have specific goals for next year. I mean, it would be great to make $xxxxx amount of money next year. But I'll be happy if it's $1 on the plus side.

I do want to continue running every day, as long as I can. Why mess with the streak?

And I do want to continue to strengthen my ties with family and friends. This past year, with the great times with friends and mourning the loss of my grandfather and Kuro, the franchise kitty, really reinforced the importance.
