Vegas- Baduci

It was starting to sound like a broken record. On our last night in Vegas, Gnome and I were sitting at a Bally's NL$1/2 table, which had just all but cleared out after the prior recipients each received $140 as part of the bad beat jackpot that happened at sister casino Paris. To my left happened to be Grubette.

I mentioned something to Gnome about Baduci, the sick game that they were spreading as part of the Treasure Island $2/4 Mixer.

"Badugi," the dealer said.

"Badu-ci," I replied back.

"It's Badu-gi," he said. "I used to deal that game."

"No, it's Baduci," I said and proceeded to explain to him the sick game that almost made me miss the Blogger tournament at The Venetian. That game apparently wasn't around yet when he was dealing the game.

Basically it's 2-7 Triple Draw (the "duci," as in deuce-y part of Baduci), where you try to make the best deuce-to-seven hand. But if someone also can make a 4-card Badugi (A-4 low, no pairs or same suited cards) then that person can split half the pot.

I love all the permuations games take. Because of working nights, I wasn't able to attend Matt's Tuesday game, but Gnome introduced it to the crew there.

  • hi, Can you tell me if I've gotten Baduci explained just about right here?

Hard to find to much info about it. I also heard some rumors that Pokerstars may pick it up here soon :).

  • Actually now that I look at my post, the baduci I played is 2-7 Triple Draw with a split pot possiblity if there is a 4-card badugi hand.
