It's a no-no Rockies, getting the shirt involved (Braves 4, Rockies 3)

It got to the bottom of the 9th with two outs and it looked like my alternate McCann shirt would finally see a loss.

And then Braves phenom Jason Heyward puts a ball deep to center and I see two Braves baserunners go in ftw.

"The shirt is undefeated! The shirt is undefeated!"

I wasn't planning on bringing the 6-0 shirt to Sunday's game until the Rockies on Saturday went for a no-hitter, the 264th in MLB history and the first one since the Chicago White Sox's Mark Buerhle had a perfect game last season.

So on Sunday, the shirt went into play. Sham and I were able to get our usual tailgating spot and also as usual, the mix of grilling and beeze meant we didn't catch the game until the 3rd inning.

But no matter. The shirt exists to close out games, not set perfect attendance.

And to win a game but lose the series? That's the real no-no in anybody's books.

Alt-McCann record:

Sunday, May 24, 2009: Braves 10, Blue Jays 2
Sunday, June 7, 2009: Braves 8, Brewers 7
Sunday, June 28, 2009: Braves 2, Red Sox 1
Friday, Aug. 7, 2009: Braves 9, Dodgers 5, 12 innings (in Los Angeles)
Monday, April 5, 2010: Braves 11, Cubs 5
Sunday, April 18, 2010: Braves 4, Rockies 3

  • I have U.Jimenez in both my fantasy leagues, so the nono was pretty sweet.

  • In the same way, I liked how you jinxed Kansas out of a title in April. Keep 'em comin! :)
